Romans 5
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we
ℵBA ⟨let us⟩
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:1 ¶ Being therefore justified by faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.2 through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and let us rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
3 And not only so, but let us also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
4 and patience, probation; and probation, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
5 and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Ghost which was given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ
ℵA ⟨For Christ, when we were yet weak, in due time⟩; B ⟨If indeed Christ, when we were yet weak, in due time⟩
died for the ungodly.6 For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly.

B read verses 7 and 8 as in parentheses
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: for peradventure for the good man some one would even dare to die.
8 But God
B ⟨he⟩
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.8 But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
12 ¶ Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:—
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also

more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.15 But not as the trespass, so also is the free gift. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound unto the many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
16 And not as through one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgement came of one unto condemnation, but the free gift came of many trespasses unto justification.

.)17 For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, even Jesus Christ.
18 Therefore as by the offence of one
ℵ ⟨one man⟩
judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.18 So then as through one trespass the judgement came unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness the free gift came unto all men to justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
20 And the law came in beside, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly:

our Lord.21 that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
